KYC documents for sellers vs bidders

What documents sellers need vs what bidders need for identity verification.

Bidder KYC (buyer identity)

Bidders submit government-issued photo ID (passport or driver's licence) and optionally proof of address. This unlocks Verified tier bid limits.

Seller KYC (business / ACH payouts)

Sellers must also verify identity to receive ACH / bank payouts via Stripe Connect. Upload at /account/verification or /account/seller/kyc.

USA seller document types

For U.S. sellers, the verification portal accepts these document types (select the matching type when uploading):

  1. government_id — U.S. driver's licence or state ID (front/back) or passport
  2. business_license — state or local business licence / auctioneer licence
  3. w9 — signed IRS Form W-9 for tax reporting
  4. ein_confirmation — IRS EIN assignment letter (CP 575) or SS-4 confirmation
  5. beneficial_ownership_attestation — signed attestation of beneficial owners (FinCEN-style)
  6. bank_letter — bank letter or voided check confirming payout account
Tip: Seller KYC banking details are collected via Stripe Connect onboarding — Bidyear does not store raw account numbers.
